AL JABR SCHOOL PROFILE

Al Jabr Islamic School is a bilingual school (Indonesian – English) at an international level with a friendly environment. Educators give full attention to each student so that he/she develop their individual knowledge, skills and attitudes to take meaningful action in creating a better world. The School committed to provide strong parent involvement, environmentally conscious, and practices the Islamic way of life.

HISTORY

AL JABR. Al Jabr is one of the Asmaul Husna names
Extracted from root words of Jim, Ba, Ra, containing the meanings of Greatness, Courage, Highness, and Istiqomah.

It also means to grow, enhance, in order to always be in good condition, and to last continually, or Istiqomah.

In a foreign language, it’s known as ALGEBRA – a branch of Mathematics, in which letters and symbols are used to represent quantities.

MASJID AL JABR (FORMER AL MUROOD)

In 2006 the name of the mosque was changed to Al Jabr after the name of its Holding Foundation. Chaired by H. Mohamad Riza Chalid, and Leader in Charge at that time Mr. H. Mochtar.

The mosque is mainly aimed as the media for the surrounding community to conduct Islamic worship and religion activities.

 

 

 TAMAN PENDIDIKAN AL QURAN (TPA) AL MUROOD

Taman Pendidikan Al Quran (TPA) was established in 1996. It was initiated by Mr. Wirra, a member of community. Patroned by Mrs. Hj. Uchu Riza, the TPA was located on the 2nd floor of Al Murood mosque, with total students 79. Even though simple, TPA Al Murood was able to deliver Al Qur’an in compliance with educational needs of current Islamic Education for students of age 3 to 12 years old with 8 instructors with assigned leader Ms. Tuti Alawiyah, S.Ag

Aside of giving Al Qur’an Educational Media for the children, Taman Pendidikan Al Quran (TPA) Al Murood aimed to develop young generation who have ownership in Science and Technology as well as proper Iman and Taqwa (Faith and Surrender) to be able to contribute to the life among the community.

The lessons was started from 2 PM to 4 PM that learning about Al Qur’an plus ‘sempoa’, English and Arabic languages.

 

AL JABR ORPHANAGE (PANTI ASUHAN AL JABR)

The main purpose of the Al Jabr Orphanage is to provide a proper and enjoyable place to stay and to educate the orphans therefore they would have brighter prospect to support their families and communities in the future. Besides schooling, the children also learn extracurricular activities in sports, language, and arts.

In the beginning of establishment, the Al Jabr Orphanage serving 14 orphans who had taken as foster children from West Java and Jakarta. Then the service continued by nurturing orphans outside the orphanage who are till staying with their mother.

Alhamdulillah, 10 students from our orphanage graduated in 2016 and 2017 who are now in universities. Currently there are remaining 4 students who are still in Middle and High School and looking forward to continue their education to the higher level.

Al JABR PLAYGROUP AND KINDERGARTEN

On June 2004, Al Jabr Playgroup and Kindergarten was established by initiation of Mrs. Uchu Riza and patroned by Mr. Mohamad Riza Chalid. They are located on the 1st floor of Al Jabr Center building. During the first year of 2004 – 2005 the Al Jabr Playgroup and Kindergarten served 24 students and continue to the second year of 2005-2006 with increasing numbers of students into 73.

Mrs. Uchu Riza herself was acting as Head Mistress of the school. With major purpose to provide National Plus bilingual education institution with international facilities, the Al Jabr Playgroup and Kindergarten became an interesting choice for the citizens of South Jakarta. Moreover, the school is a “non-profit oriented” institution whereas its existence is to subsidize the life of Al Jabr Orphanage (PA).

The initial curriculum was National KBK, Montessori (Complete Lessons & Materials) and international teaching and learning approach.
