A declaration of the United Nations General Assembly in 1947 designated the 24th of October as the United Nations (UN) Day. The UN Day involves celebration of showcasing different culture from around the world into different forms.
Grade 1 students commemorate UN day in our Friday Assembly. They introduced different cultures and customs from different countries so everyone is knowledgeable and open-minded to information and differences. In their performance, Grade 1 students also compared and contrasted the cultures to Indonesia.
The learner profiles inform the school’s and IB’s educational philosophy and they stand as clear and concise statement of the values that inform a community that encourages the development of international mindedness. Celebration of UN Day is only a way to articulate them.
