Each subject has standard competencies which identify key concepts that underpin that curriculum area with subject expectation that describe what a student should understand as a result of studying a particular content area.

Assessment Criteria are then attached to each subject. They describe what a student should know, understand or be able to do at each stage of their learning in each subject. These criteria are what our teachers assess to ensure that students are reaching the subject expectation and are working towards the standards competency.

In the Al Jabr High School, the standard competency, subject expectation, and assessment criteria specifically take into account the requirements of internal examinations that students sit in Grade 10, Grade 11 and Grade 12.

Creativity Action Service (CAS)

As part of our commitment to service learning and develop students’ skills for civic engagement, CAS is one of required elements in High School. Students apply knowledge and skills to community service to complementing their academic study.

CREATIVITY refers to arts, and other experiences that involve creative thinking.

ACTION refers to physical activities contributing to a healthy lifestyle, complementing academic work

SERVICE refers to an unpaid and voluntary exchange that has a learning benefit for the student.

Extended Essay/ Karya Ilmiah

The Extended Essay/ Karya Ilmiah is mandatory for all students. It is independent, self-directed piece of research based on student’s subject preference and follow scientific structure with a 4,000-word paper.
